A piece for two instruments and a saxophone player (2004)The goal was to find an interfacing method, which would allow a single musician (a saxophone player) to control or play both instruments (computer and saxophone) at the same time. Small mechanical switches were placed under the saxophone keys and the computer communication established through the MIDI protocol. The real time sound synthesis is done in PD (pure data) where the he parameters of the synthesis engine are controlled by changing the saxophone key positions. The piece was originally written for 10 speakers, but can also be adapted and performed on stereo systems.
